Deutsch: Dornier Do 17 M-1, 2./KG 2 (I. Gruppe des Kampfgeschwaders 2, 2. Staffel) in Liegnitz (Schlesien) oder Gerdauen (Ostpreussen), zwischen dem 1. Mai und 1. Okt. 1939. Die 2. Staffel des KG 2 führte 1939 das Wappen des Deutschen Ordens als Staffelwappen/Emblem auf ihren Do 17 M. Die Verwendung dieses Wappens auf den ab 01.10.1939 eingeführten Do 17 Z, und den später nachfolgenden Do 217 ist nicht nachgewiesen.[1]
Die Aufklärungsgruppe 10[2] der Luftwaffe benutzte ebenfalls das Wappen des Dt. Ordens, und zwar auf
Die I. Gruppe des KG 2 (Kampfgeschwader 2, "Holzhammer-Geschwader") war vom 23. Februar bis 22. März 1940, und vom 23. April bis 10. Mai 1940 in Giebelstadt mit Dornier Do 17 Z stationiert. Die vorangegangenen Stationierungsorte waren mit Beginn des Überfalls auf Polen (Polenfeldzug) vom 1. Sept. 1939 bis zum 17. Sept. 1939: Gerdauen (Ostpreussen). Der Kampfeinsatz der I. und II./KG 2 in Polen dauerte bis zum Einmarsch der sowjet. Truppen in Ostpolen am 17.09.1939. Am 1. Okt. 1939 wurde die I./KG 2 von Gerdauen nach Liegnitz (Schlesien) verlegt, dort Umrüstung von der Do 17 M auf die Do 17 Z. Bis zum 2. Nov. 1939 wurde über Cottbus und Welzow nach Erfurt-Bindersleben weiter verlegt. Danach ergaben sich folgende in Süddeutschland gelegene Stationierungen [1]:
