Summary
[edit]DescriptionDr. Thomas Martin House and Yale Steam Laundry Condominium.jpg |
English: The Dr. Thomas Martin House previously addressed at 465 New York Avenue NW in the Mount Vernon Square neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It was built in 1902 by John C. Yost and designed by L. F. Stutz. The original owner was Thomas Martin, an African American physician and one of the first graduates of the Howard University College of Medicine. The building later served as an apartment house then sat empty for several decades. (view in 2010) It was restored, moved, and incorporated into the Yale Steam Laundry Condominium complex, the taller building seen behind it. |
