Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Drawing of the newly-erected Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge over the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C., in the United States. Completed in 1890, the bridge replaced a former structure that burned in 1846. The iron truss bridge featured an iron beam and wooden superstructure, and masonry piers. Two spans existed at the northwestern terminus of the bridge (left in this image) to allow passage of railroad trains beneath it.
