Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Den onde Kulsoens mand Tam har advaret Ib Abelsøn om, at Kulsoen vil ramme hans kæreste Inger. Han tager til huset hvor de er og fanger Kulsoen, før hun kan nå at forgifte Inger. Han tager hende så ned til havet og sætter hende ombord på en isflage, så Gud kan afgøre, om hun skal komme i land eller gå til havs. Hun skriger og beder, men isflagen driver til havs, og hendes tøj virker som et sejl. Til sidst forsvinder hun i det åbne hav og dør.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. The husband of the evil Kulsoen, Tam, has warned Ib Abelsøn that Kulsoen is going to hit his girlfriend Inger. He goes to the house where they are and captures Kulsoen before she can poison Inger. He then takes her to the sea and puts her onboard an ice floe, letting God decides whether she shall come ashore or ending in the sea. She screams and begs but the ice floe drives away and her clothes works as a sail. At last she disappear in the open sea and dies.
