N.B. Contrary to rumours apparently circulating on the Internet, the new movie of Alice in Wonderland was not shot in Rosebery Avenue, Tottenham, London N17. And unlike the book of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland this green bag does not even have a neat instruction label which says - for example - DUMP ME. And it isn't even dumped. The green bag is part of the 'official' waste management system. Street cleaners working for Haringey Enterprise - the Council's waste contractors - leave the bags in prominent locations awaiting collection. Which then models similar behaviour by a minority of residents and traders who treat the nearby pavements as convenient, all-hours, waste collection pick-up points. |
