The eight armed Durga has majestically placed her left foot upon a striding Lion and is seen in the 5th Devakulika facing North in the South wall enclosure in Eastern end.

Description
English: Durga was worshipped by Pallava Kings as War Goddess and therefore one of their favourite theme was depicting Durga as Vindhyavasini or Mahishamardhani in temples built by them. The same theme is also shown in North wall Niche with twelve arms in a similar posture.
