Description
English: The Dwight D Eisenhower Memorial is the latest memorial built in Washington, DC. It is located south of Independence Avenue, on the opposite side of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, in front of the U.S. Education Department’s L.B. Johnson Building. This open space memorial is dedicated to Dwight D. Eisenhower who was one of America's greatest leaders of the 20th century.: A five-star general who led the D-Day invasion and a two-term president who brought stability to the US after the end of World War 2.
Français : Le dernier monument commémoratif inauguré en septembre dernier est celui de Dwight D Eisenhower. Il se situe au sud d' Independence Avenue, de l’autre côté de musée de l’air et de l’espace (Smithsonian) devant le bâtiment L.B Johnson du ministère de l’éducation. Cet ensemble commémoratif en plein air est dédié à Dwight D. Eisenhower, un des plus grands leaders du vingtième siècle : un général qui mena le débarquement en Normandie et fut élu deux fois à la présidence des États-Unis.
