The early Lost Spring is located in a 5-acre area bisected by Lyon Creek in the NE1⁄4, SW1⁄4 of Section 16, Township 17 South, Range 4 East. The spring, which is fed by the Flint Hills to the east, is located in a natural bend of Lyon Creek. A strong flow of water flows from a cavity in the rocks at the base of a small limestone cliff on the creek’s west bank.
