Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano (northwestern Wyoming, USA). East Mustard Spring is a frequently-erupting geyser in the northern Sapphire Group of Yellowstone's Upper Geyser Basin. It has a subcircular basin 7 to 8 meters in diameter with a centrally-located vent. Eruption intervals (= start to start) range from about 8 to 14 minutes. At any one time, intervals vary little (e.g., 12 to 14 minutes or 11 to 13 minutes or 9 to 11 minutes). Eruption durations are usually about 3.5 to 4 minutes. Eruptions consist of low to medium-sized splashing. No runoff channels are present - eruption water returns to the vent or accumulates in marginal splash pools.
