Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Buildings on the south side of East Utica Street just past the corner of Main Street, Buffalo, New York, April 2020. At left, Ruby Butts Manor at 17-19 E. Utica is a brick apartment building dating to 1913 and designed in a Queen Anne style by the firm of Dunning & Dunning, wherein a handsome parapeted cornice crowns a façade flanked by twin bay windows spanning the second and third floors. At right, the Utica Business Center building at 11-13 E. Utica is a 1911 commercial-style building notable mostly for the modillion brackets in the eaves of its cornice and the five-light transoms crowning its ground-floor windows; G. Morton Wolfe is the architect. Both buildings, along with the adjacent one directly at the corner of Main Street, were commissioned by real estate speculator Jacob Henkel.
