Description
English: Construction of the East River Tunnels, 1909. Concrete bulkhead, which was set every 1000 ft during construction of the tunnel. At the bottom, there are two air locks for the passage of men and material, at the top, there is an emergency air lock.
Deutsch: Bau der East River-Tunnel, 1909. Betonschottwand, wie sie während dem Bau der Tunnel alle 300 m gesetzt wurde. Unten befinden sich zwei Luftschleusen für den Durchgang von Arbeiter und Material, oben eine Notfall-Schleuse.
