| Description |
English: Built in 1864 as a Greek Revival-style house for Eberhard Waechter, this house was later extended circa 1900 with a Queen Anne-style addition and an ornate balcony on the original front facade of the house. The house features a red brick exterior, rough-hewn stone base, gabled roof, a second-story balcony on the Water Street facade with decorative balustrades and trim, replacement windows, a two-story corner bay window, Palladian attic window on the front gable, a porch with stop-chamfered columns and decorative trim, and a one-story rear ell with a hipped roof. The house is a contributing structure in the Oldenburg Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. |
