"Wesentliche Teile des Turmes und des Kirchenschiffs stammen aus romanischer Zeit. Um 1250 erfolgte der Ausbau zur Wehranlage, wie die hohe und wuchtige Umfassungsmauer zeigt. Der Chor wurde Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts im gotischen Stil angefügt; außerdem wurde der Turm erhöht und zur Zierde mit Wichhäuschen versehen. 1743 - 1745 erfolgte die Umgestaltung zur barocken Saalkirche; dabei wurde die Decke als reizvoller blauer Wolkenhimmel mit Gestirnen gestaltet. Eine im Innern in der Nähe des Altars aufgestellte romanische Kreuzplatte weist auf eine Vorgängerkirche hin." Quelle
