فارسی: حد شاکلی- کویسر (Shockley-Queisser limit) حداکثر بازده ممکن یک سلول خورشیدی تک پیوندی را در زیر نور غیرمتمرکز خورشید، به عنوان تابعی از بندگپ نیمه‌هادی می‌دهد. اگر بندگپ خیلی بزرگ باشد، اغلب فوتون‌های روز نمی‌توانند جذب شوند. اگر خیلی کوچک باشد، اغلب فوتون‌های انرژی بیشتری از انرژی لازم برای برانگیخته کردن الکترون‌ها در سرار بندگپ دارند و بسیاری از آن هدر می‌روند. نیمه‌هادی‌هایی که معمولا در سلول‌های خورشیدی تجاری استفاده می‌شوند، دارای بندگپی نزدیک به نقطه اوج این منحنی هستند، همانطور که در سلول‌های مبتنی بر سیلیسیم رخ می‌دهد. حد شاکلی- کویسر به طور تجربی با ترکیب مواد با بندگپ‌های مختلف افزایش یافته است. |
