English: Eklogit-deposit in the municipality of Wernersdorf, district of Deutschlandsberg, Styria, Austria
Deutsch: Der Eklogit-Hohlfelsen in der Gemeinde Wernersdorf, politischer Bezirk Deutschlandsberg, Weststeiermark, gilt als das schönste Eklogit-Vorkommen Österreichs. Es handelt sich um eine rund 60 Meter hohe Felsburg, die aus dem umgebenden weicheren Glimmer-Schiefer herausragt. Im Blockfeld befinden sich Felsblöcke, die hunderte von Tonnen wiegen. Die auffallendsten Eklogit-Bestandteile sind roter Granat und grüner Pyroxen (Omphacit). Eklogit ist ein sehr hartes Umwandlungsgestein - entstanden aus einem feldspatreichen Gabbro - aus dem schon in der Steinzeit Werkzeuge hergestellt wurden.
