Impressed by his speed and cunning, the Samurai offered Jesús a chance to be trained in Japan to become a Samurai. Naturally, Jesús accepted the offer, and went to Japan with the master. Years later, as an adult, he discovered that he was the chosen one, meant to restore peace to the world. He then under took several trials to determine that he truly was the chosen one. His first task was a battle with the Hassan, a being with four arms, wielding deadly scimitars. Jesús quickly defeated him with a gift from his master, the legendary Taia Sword. The next challenge was the Black Knight, a gunslinger armed with pistols forged in the Heavens by the Gods, in the service of “The Three Kings”. Though a little more difficult, Jesús was also able to defeat the Black Knight. Jesús then encounter “The Three Kings”. They told him of his upcoming task of assembling three others to help in his goal to defeat the upcoming darkness. His first encounter is Rob Ricks, bounty hunter who was trained by an elite Special Forces team. He of course has two other encounters that have not been published. About El-Samurai is a deliberate and purposeful homage, and satire of just about every form of story telling, specifically in regards of Sci-Fi, westerns, and old samurai films, with more references to pop culture than the “Beastie Boys” and the “Blood Hound Gang”. Specifically referring to “RUN-DMC,” “Star Wars”, “the Good the Bad and the Ugly”, “the Preacher”, “Death Wish”, “Duel to the Death”, and “Monty Python”, to name a few. |
