Español: El Hotel Central fue sede de importantes reuniones y acontecimientos públicos que se celebraban en la ciudad capital.
Las modificaciones y adiciones estuvieron a cargo del arquitecto Wright, que decidió mantener el patio original y la escalera, únicos en todo el barrio del Casco Antiguo. La planta baja tenía un piso de mármol gris, aunque desvencijado por el tiempo, muestra el esplendor de la 'belle epoque'. En él estaban las oficinas administrativas del hotel, la barbería, una cantina, el comedor y los servicios sanitarios. La ventilación y el alumbrado eran de primera. De igual forma, su famosa escalera principal, diseñada y construida en Nueva York y posteriormente ensamblada en su actual ubicación, tiene la ventaja de que, a pesar de encontrarse debajo del techo, no formaba parte del edificio, y no estaba expuesta a corrientes de aire que, con frecuencia, convierten las escaleras, en caso de incendio, en trampas de muerte. El hotel tenía 125 habitaciones, tanto externas como internas, todas con vista al patio. El Gran Evenia Hotel Central, el nuevo hotel boutique de cinco estrellas, tendrá 132 habitaciones, un elegante bar y restaurante, gimnasio y spa, además de un salón de reuniones.
