| Description | Elaborate carvings on one of the doors of the closed Phra That Khong Santi Chedi in Luang Prabang. Although I'm not particularly religious, and agnostic in fact, I would normally have skipped the temple. My guide however assured me that it's different. Well, it was closed anyway. I read later that there are nice paintings inside that depict rather graphically what happens to the blasphemous and to the holy. So maybe it was just as well that it wasn't open when I visited? ;-) (Luang Prabang, Laos/ Lao PDR, April 2014) |
