Summary
[edit]DescriptionElectric Airbus Beluga.jpg |
English: There are efforts to electrify commercial aircraft. Obviously, most of these are focused around the use of high-energy-density batteries. However, all these projects are focusing on general aviation aircraft or "air taxis". Using batteries to power long-haul aircraft is currently not possible. For comparison, see the recent "EUROCONTROL Think Paper #21 - Long-haul flight decarbonisation: When can cutting-edge energies & technologies make a difference?" This is what makes this image an excellent humorous illustration of any materials related to either electric aircraft specifically, or sustainable aviation in general. |
