[edit]Ellen Cuffee. Southampton, New York; January 24, 1916. The funeral services of Ellen Cuffee were held in the Shinnecock Presbyterian Church, yesterday afternoon. The deceased was the daughter of Charles Kellis, who was a full-blooded Shinnecock Indian. She was the widow of Wicksham Cuffee, also a direct descendant of the once powerful Shinnecock tribe, and was 72 years of age. She is survived by a daughter, Lulu, wife of Charles Hunter, and two sons, Emerson and Circassian.
