| Description |
English: Running parallel to a drainage ditch is a straight portion of the Ellicott Creek Trailway, as seen looking northward on an April 2023 afternoon. Opened to cyclists and pedestrians in 1988, the 4.4-mile original portion of this trail extends in a northwesterly direction roughly parallel to Ellicott Creek (hence its name) from Ellicott Creek Trailway Park on North Forest Road, passing through the North Campus of the University at Buffalo and the sprawling Audubon Industrial Park before ending at Ellicott Creek Park in nearby Tonawanda. A southward extension of the path, leading to the Audubon Recreation Complex on Amherst Manor Road, added 2.2 miles to the total length when it opened in May 2000. |
