══════════════════════════════════════ From a set of photos taken between April 2005 and May 2010 to give information so people could decide whether to challenge Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs or 'parking tickets') where road markings didn't comply with the law. ══════════════════════════════════════ In all three photos the parking bays shown had incorrect double end lines which didn't comply with Traffic Signs Regulations. Nor did they follow drawings in the Traffic Signs Manual from the Department for Transport. These lines are the responsibility of Haringey Council's Urban Environment Department and - at the time - former councillor Brian Haley. Despite knowing about this problem for months - at least since February 2008, if not earlier - Mr Haley and his officers chose to ignore their own breaches of the Statutory Regulations. During the same period, Haringey continued to give Parking Control Notices (PCNs or parking fines) to motorists. The Council had the option of following the sensible example of other authorities which tackled the problem by correcting faulty lines and signs.
