| Description |
English: Like the mountain big sagebrush and the little sagebrush steppe of southeastern Idaho and western Montana, the yellow flowered Eriogonum umbellatum umbellatum is of sporadic occurrence and much less common than other perennial Eriogonum species where in the Jarbidge area, Eriogonum heracleoides is widespread and abundant. The bright yellow tepals and leaf blade lanate below and green above are diagnostic of variety umbellatum. This site lies in the sagebrush steppe along the ridge that connects the Jarbidge Mountains with Elk Mountain, east of Slide Creek campground. |
