English: 8 minute exposure of dwarf planet Eris with a 24" telescope. Eris is about apparent magnitude 18.7 in this image taken at 2009-11-09 06:30 UT. The moon was 54% at 110 degrees from Eris and was just starting to rise. The galaxy PGC 144213 is visible at the bottom of the image. For comparison the apparent magnitude of some of the stars are labeled. |
