Deutsch: Blick auf das mutmaßlich Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts auf der Leineinsel Klein-Venedig in Hannover als Fachwerkhaus errichtete und ehemals denkmalgeschützte Geschäftshaus Ernst-August-Straße 8 (gefolgt vom Gebäude mit der Hausnummer 9), in dem zum Zeitpunkt der um 1920 getätigten Aufnahme die Uhren- und Goldwarenhandlung des Hofuhrmachers August Speckmann seinen Sitz hatte. Die seltene Fotografie, hier als punktgerasterter Druck, gewährt einen Blick von der Brücke an der Ecke Calenberger Straße entlang dem Königlichen Regierungsgebäude (Dicasteriengebäude, heute Niedersächsisches Umweltministerium) über die Leine und zur Brückmühle. Ganz im Hintergrund ist bereits die Kuppel des 1913 eingeweihten Neuen Rathauses zu erkennen. Nach den Zerstörungen durch die Luftangriffe auf Hannover im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde der Brückmühlenarm der Leine zugeschüttet und nach Plänen von Stadtbaudirektor Rudolf Hillebrecht für die Autogerechte Stadt hier das mehrspurige Leibnizufer über den Standort hinweggeführt ... |
