Español: En su parte superior izquierda, La figura del colonizador y fundador de Altamira, Don José de Escandón y Helguera, (Conde de Sierra Gorda), y a sus espaldas el caballo que montaba.
Parte superior derecha, la Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol (Patrón de la Ciudad), cuya construcción se inicio en el año de 1750, y en el año de 1765, cuando se encontraba terminado en sus pares y contrafuertes, con techo estilo huasteco, con varas de encino, otate, chijol, palma y tule. Siendo gobernador, el Coronel Don José de Helguera, se solicito el permiso correspondiente por conducto de la autoridad de la villa, para proceder a su inauguración y ponerlo al servicio de la comunidad religiosa. Al centro, La inscripción de la fundación de la antigua villa, y la declaración de la categoría de la hoy ciudad. Parte inferior izquierda, La figura de un animal vacuno, por ser zona ganadera, así como agrícola y salinera. Parte inferior derecha, Las Figuras de tres tanques redondos, que representan a la industria petroquímica de la ciudad. |
