Summary
[edit]DescriptionEscudo de Hernán Cortés completo.svg |
English: Complete coat of arms of Hernán Cortés. To the shield granted by King Carlos I of Spain in 1525 he adds above all an escuton typical of the Cortés de Monroy (In gold, four sticks of gules. Azure border with eight crosses of St. John of Jerusalem, made of silver. Blasonario de la consanguinidad ibérica) loaded with his motto Judicium domini aprehendit eos et fortitudo ejus corroboravit brachium meum (The heraldry of Hernán Cortés) and a winged lion on the helmet that Cortés added to the shield.
