Se trata de adivinar el lugar de la fotografia..... La plaza Mayor de Salamanca en España fue construida en el periodo que va desde el año 1729 al 1756, en estilo barroco. En 1935, fue declarado Monumento Nacional, por ser la Plaza Mayor "más decorada, proporcionada y armónica de todas las de su época". El programa iconográfico de la plaza Mayor de Salamanca consiste en un conjunto de iconos, también llamados medallones, ubicados en diferentes partes de la plaza Mayor de Salamanca y que va unida al desarrollo de la plaza y ubicados en las enjutas de los ochenta y ocho arcos. Medallones con el busto de algunos reyes de España y otros personajes ilustres (santos, sabios, descubridores, etc). En 1936 estando en plena Guerra Civil y habiendo trasladado el Cuartel General de las Tropas Nacionales, Francisco Franco se hace tallar una efigie en el comienzo del pabellón Real (la talla fue realizada por el escultor Miguel Huerta) Con la implantación de la Ley de la Memoria Histórica, en el artículo 15 de esta ley establece la retirada de escudos, insignias, plazas y otros objetos o menciones conmemorativas de exaltación personal o colectiva, de la sublevación militar, de la Guerra Civil de 1936 y de la represión de la dictadura. Ese medallón de Franco en la Plaza Mayor sigue generando polémica, bien por simpatizar con el régimen o bien por considerar que simplemente es parte de la historia, y en contra aquellos que piden su retirada por representar una dictadura, además de mostrar su molestar por la protección que se le brinda a este medallón sobre los demás. |
