Português: Estudo de figuras humanas para a tela "Cortes Constituintes de 1821" de Veloso Salgado. As duas personagens são Basílio Alberto de Sousa Pinto (à esquerda, representado de corpo inteiro, voltado a três quartos para a esquerda, veste fraque e calças cinzentos, está de pé, de pernas afastadas, inclinado sobre o segundo, apoiando a mão esquerda sobre as costas da cadeira daquele, e com as costas da mão direita apoiadas na anca) e João Baptista Felgueiras (representado a meio corpo, de frente para o espectador, voltado a três quartos para a direita, veste casaco cinzento e está sentado numa cadeira de espaldar, escrevendo sobre uma mesa, da qual foi apenas apontado o tampo com estreita mancha castanha). Assinado e datado no canto inferior direito: "V. Salgado, 1920".
English: Study of human figures for the painting "The Constituent Courts of 1821", by Veloso Salgado. The two characters are Basílio Alberto de Sousa Pinto (to the left, depicted at full length, turned three-quarters to the left, wearing a brown coat and gray trousers, standing, with parted legs, leaning over the second individual, with his left hand holding the back of the other's chair, and with the back of his right hand on his hip), and João Baptista Felgueiras (depicted at half-length, facing the viewer, looking to the right, wearing a gray coat and sitting on a chair, writing on a table of which only the top was painted). Signed and dated on the lower right corner: "V. Salgado, 1920".
