Description
English: Euphémie Vauthier was born on 3 May 1829 in Montignac in the Dordogne department and she was married Eugène Garcin (1830-1909), writer and journalist, on 11 May 1861 in Paris in the 9th arrondissement. She is the director and teacher of an institution and boarding school for young girls in Paris, professor of history at the Higher School for Young Girls of the City of Paris, writer, journalist and lecturer. She is also the younger sister of Louis-Léger Vauthier (1815-1901), a French engineer and politician. She was prosecuted for contempt of the French National Assembly. The writer Victor Hugo supports Euphémie Vauthier in her political fight and she will be acquitted.
