English: from the left: Eva (1919–1999), Renate (1918–2003) and Ruth Reiner (1922–1948), three out of four daughters of Dr. Paul Reiner (1886–1932) and his wife Anna Sara Reiner (1891–1972), née Hochschild, on the East Frisian island Juist in Prussia on the estate of Schule am Meer, a progressive private boarding-school where their parents both served as teachers, her father also as deputy headmaster. The fourth daughter Karin was born in 1931.
Deutsch: von links: Eva (1919–1999), Renate (1918–2003) und Ruth Reiner (1922–1948), drei der vier Töchter von Dr. phil. nat. Paul Reiner (1886–1932) und dessen Ehefrau Anna Sara (1891–1972), geborene Hochschild, auf der ostfriesischen Insel Juist in Preußen, im Loog auf dem Areal des reformpädagogischen Landerziehungsheims Schule am Meer. Ihre Eltern waren dort als Lehrer tätig, ihr Vater zudem als stellvertretender Schulleiter. Sie lebten in einer Lehrerwohnung im südlichen Teil des westlich gelegenen Schulwohngebäudes Arche, das sie mit einer weiteren Lehrkraft, Leonore Luise Neumann (1879–1940) und den Primanern teilten. Diese Fotografie entstand südlich der Arche. Im Hintergrund erkennt man links die aus Backsteinen gemauerte Arche, mittig hinter dem Kopf der ältesten Schwester Renate schemenhaft die Westfalenhalle und rechts die dunkel gebeizte Fassade der Holzbaracke Jenseits, in der die Tertianer und Sekundaner mit einzelnen Lehrern untergebracht waren. Die vierte Tochter Karin Reiner wurde 1931 geboren. |
