Le Palais Lumière (ex-établissement thermal - 1900-1902) L'architecte parisien Ernest Brunarius fut chargé, en 1898, de réaliser un nouvel établissement thermal à Evian. Le nouvel édifice fut construit à partir de 1900 et inauguré en février 1902. La façade jaune et blanche en pierres et briques vernissées était surmontée à l’origine d’un dôme sur tour carrée. Supprimé en 1971, le dôme fut rétabli en 2006. Depuis l’été 2006, l’édifice a été rebaptisé Le Palais Lumière. Cet édifice, représentatif de l'architecture thermale, regroupe aujourd'hui un espace musée, une médiathèque et un nouvel espace congrès doté d'un auditorium et de salles de réunions. The Palais Lumière (eg thermal establishment - 1900-1902) The Parisian architect Ernest Brunarius was commissioned in 1898 to create a new thermal establishment in Evian. The new building was built in 1900 and inaugurated in February 1902. The yellow and white stone façade was originally topped with a dome on square tower. Removed in 1971, the dome was restored in 2006. Since summer 2006, the building was renamed the Palais Lumière. This building is representative of the thermal architecture, now has a museum space, a library and a new convention space with an auditorium and meeting rooms. |
