DescriptionEyal Eizenberg.jpg | June 15, 2011 This morning, the replacement ceremony for the GOC Home Front Command took place at the Command's headquarters in Ramle. The IDF Chief of the General Staff, Maj. Gen. Benny Gantz led the ceremony, in which Maj. Gen. Eyal Eisenberg replaced Maj. Gen. Yair Golan as GOC Home Front Command. The outgoing commander of the Home Front Command, Maj. Gen. Golan served for three and a half years in the position and is now set to be appointed as the new GOC Northern Command. The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz spoke at the ceremony about the significance of the Home Front Command: "This is a sensitive time and it is the IDF's duty to stand guard and make all efforts to ensure that Israel remains an island of security. The current reality of instability further complicates the Home Front Command's mission." Pictured (l-r): Maj. Gen. Eyal Eisenberg, Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, Maj. Gen. Yair Golan |
