(1867, Kecskemét - 1945, Budapest) Ebéd 1902 Olaj, vászon, 138 x 165 cm Magyar Nemzeti Galéria, Budapest Az 1880-as évek közepén a kritika nagy lelkesedéssel fogadta Fényes legelsõ munkáit, amelyeket a XIX. századi zsánerképek stílusában készített. 1898-tól kezdõdõen, a Szegényemberek élete címû sorozatával Fényes egy új, a korábbi romantikus elemetõl elszakadó realista stílust dolgozott ki. A színek palettája jelentõsen megváltozott, a napszámosokat, anyákat és gyermekeiket ábrázoló csoportjai nagyobbak és színesebbek lettek. Fényes mûvészetének elsõ, a Szegényemberek élete sorozattal reprezentált korszaka 1907 körül ért véget. FÉNYES, Adolf (1867, Kecskemét - 1945, Budapest) Lunch 1902 Oil on canvas, 138 x 165 cm Hungarian National Gallery, Budapest In the mid-1890s the earliest works by Fényes, done in the style of nineteenth-century genre paintings, were received with enthusiasm; in the paintings of the series Poor People's Lives, he developed from 1898 on a new kind of realism that was free of previous romantic elements. Concomitantly, his palette underwent a considerable change; his grouping of day labourers, mothers and children grew more and more colourful. The first great period of Fényes's art, represented by the Poor People's Lives, lasted until nearly 1907. Type: genre Time-line: 1901-1925 Form: painting |
