Description
Nederlands: De wolken waren grijs, de wind guur, maar de ontvangst voor de Nederlandse F-35 Lightning II’s op Leeuwarden vooral warm. De spottersbult ‘Marsum’ bij vliegbasis Leeuwarden bleef overdag nog wat stilletjes. Natuurlijk stonden er maandagmiddag 23 mei wel wat enthousiastelingen voor de aankomst van de 2 Nederlandse F-35’s. Maar Joop de Groot, voorzitter van spottersclub Aviation Group Leeuwarden, had al meer mensen verwacht. Dat idee had de eigenaar van de snackwagen ter plekke ook. “Hij kwam al naar me toe en zei: ‘Komen ze wel, joh?’”, aldus De Groot. Na werktijd komt de toestroom pas goed op gang en ziet de bult ‘zwart van de mensen’, alle koppies en cameralenzen omhoog gericht. Speurend naar de silhouetten van de F-35’s die voor het eerst op Nederlandse bodem landen.
