Summary[edit]

Description A U.S. Navy Grumman F8F-2P Bearcat of Composite Squadron 62 (VC-62) Det.5 "Fighting Photos" flies over the aircraft carrier USS Midway (CVB-41). VC-62 Det.5 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 6 (CVG-6) aboard the Midway for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 9 January to 5 May 1952. It cross-decked to to USS Tarawa (CV-40) on 27 January and was re-assigned to CVG-8 aboard the Tarawa for a deployment to 11 June 1952.
