208-PU-173-H-8: Betraying his interest in his attentive look as he leans forward for a better view, President Franklin D. Roosevelt watches activities at the U.S. Army’s Jungle Training Unit.   • FDR Day by Day for July 28, 1944: Honolulu, HI, 1:50pm. FDR accompanied by Adm. William D. Leahy, Gen. Richardson and Adm. Ghormley, dep. Waikiki by automobile for Kahana Bay where he inspected the Army's Jungle Training center. Col. William Saffarans, who commands this center, was on hand to meet FDR and personally conduct him on the inspection tour. Maj. Gen. Hodge and Brig. Gen. McCuniff were also present.
