Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Placed between the Royal Palace and the Manzanares riverside.

This "ermita" is one of the first examples of the barroque style in Madrid.

It was built by Pedro de Ribera in 1718, and seriously damaged during the spanish civil war. In 1945 it was restaured, and nowadays is an important landmark in the XXIth century urbanism plan called "Madrid Río", developped for the Mayor of Madrid to reorganise most of the Manzanares Riverside.

This is a photo of a monument listed in the Spanish heritage register of Bienes de Interés Cultural under the reference RI-51-0001174.
