Español: La Catedral vieja de Plasencia constituye un ejemplo muy interesante de la transición del románico al gótico. Al primero pertenecen los fustes y capiteles de sus columnas, al gótico sus arcos y ventanales. La portada principal y exterior de esta Catedral es un ejemplo de románico, con arco de medio punto y seis arquivoltas que descansan sobre columnas románicas y capitales con formas zoomórficas y vegetales. Las jambas terminan en punta de diamante. Encima del arco, en una sencilla hornacina, se contempla un grupo escultórico representando a la Anunciación de Nuestra Señora, por encima del cual destaca un rosetón de gran tamaño. |
