| Description |
English: Seen in September 2021 is the Fairview Cemetery, located at 9 Mount Pleasant Street in Naples, New York, near the corner of North Main Street at the north end of the village center. The site has been in use as a cemetery since the earliest days of Naples: the first recorded burial took place in 1801, only 11 years after the first white settlers moved into the valley. The cemetery was for years connected with the First Presbyterian Church which stood on the square from 1825 until it burned down in 1874, hence its alternate name, the First Church Cemetery. Burials continued until about 1915. |
