English: Cliff below the arboretum in Canet-en-Roussillon commune, France. (Two kilomètres west of the village centre.) Above: Early Pleistocene river terrace deposits laid down by the nearby Têt river. Below: Pliocene continental deposits. The age of the river terrace deposits has been estimated from evidence elsewhere at around one million years (see Delmas, Magali et al., 2018, above, where the terrace is referred to as T5). But whatever its precise age, it is clear from the highly weathered nature of its deposits that this terrace is one of the oldest in the Têt catchment.
