Liebe Eltern!
Bedanke mich bestens für Euren lieben Brief den ich heute beantworten will. Nun geht es ja wieder ist doch die Ernte schon bald vorbei. Wir haben nur mehr 4 Fuhren Hafer hafer am Feld. War kein Hund das Einfahren. Habe fast immer abgeladen. War das oft eine Hitze. Da gabs immer kalen Kaffee oder Himbeerwasser. Jetzt ist es ja nun kühler geworden. Muß nun meine anderen Schuhe doppeln [mit einer Sohle versehen] lassen. Sind ganz „Habe die Ehre.“ [Abschiedsgruß] - Karl u. ich sprechen oft von zu Hause. Sind froh das wir zusammen sind, dakann man sich wenigstens ausreden. Du fragst was wir bis im Dezember machen. Och da ist genug. Jetzt kommt die Katoffelernte dann die Rübenernte, da ist immer zu tun. hauptsache der Dezember kommt bald.
- Du hast da eine schwere Frage gestellt. Was ich nach meinem Dienst mache. Das weis man jetzt noch nicht. Mit der Musik ist es [eben so.]
