Göttingen am 16. II. 1941.
Liebe Eltern
Vorallem Grüße ich euch auf das herzlichste. Heute komme ich
nun endlich dazu euch zu schreiben, Ihr könnt Euch ja gar nicht
vorstellen wie wenig Zeit eine [sic] bleibt man hat ja Unheimlich
viel zu tun. Ich will Euch nun berichten wie wir hier her
gekommen sind. Also nach 37 Stündiger Fahrt sind wir nun glücklich hie in
der Universitätsstadt Göttingen bei Hannover angekommen.
Wir wurden dann in die Kaserne geführt und legten uns
da es schon 2h früh war schlafen um 6h hies es wieder auf
zum Ausrüstung faßen. Wir erhielten gleich alles. Man-
tel, 2 Röcke 3 [...??? Sorten ???] Stahlhelm, Tellerkappe [= Schirmmütze???], Schiffchenkappe [= Käppi???]
Schuhe, Gewehr, Patronentasche, Essgeschirr und Unterwäsche.
Allso [sic] mehr als genug fürs erste. Dann wurden wir in die
Kompanien aufgeteilt ich bin mit Karl [ein Freund] zu saammen auf
der selben Stube. Wir sind hier mit lauter Preußen zusam-
men wir vertragen uns mit ihnen sehr gut sind alle gu-
te Kameraden auch unsere Vorgesetzten sind gut wenn sie
uns auch nicht mit Glacehandschuhen anfaßen. Aber das
muß halt sein. Am Samstag wurden wir schon verei-
digt das war sehr Feierlich. Dann gingen wir ins Kino.
Das Essen ist gut und reichlich. heute sind wir 2 mal
Geimpft worden gegen Pocken und Thipus [= Typhus]. Heute Mittag
gab es Schweinebraten und dann der bei den Preußen
so beliebt Puding. Wir sind hier in der Kompanie 20
Wiener auf jeder Stube 2 Wiener. Heute haben Karl und
ich schon unsere Sachen geputzt und gewaschen da giebts
eine Mordshetz. ich habe mir auch schon die ersten Knöpfe
angenäht na es ist ganz gut gegangen. Morgen machen wir
die erste Ausbildung mit. Wir sind schon alle gespannt. Hier
geht alles gut nur hatt man viel zu wenig Zeit zu allen kaum
hat man etwas angefangen heists schon wieder „raus treten“.
