Polen den 8. VI. 41
Liebe Eltern!
Vor allem meine herzlichsten Grüße von meinen neuen Aufenthaltsort. Ja jetzt ist es so weit nun hatt man mich nach Polen gesteckt. Ich bin hier weit hinter Warschau ganz weit im osten. Am Mittwoch ist die Fahrt los gegangen um 5 h früh und am Freitag Abend waren wir hier. Es ist hier wie es haltin Polen überall ist viel Staub, Sand und Dreck. Für uns Soldaten ist genügend gesorgt und wir machen uns das Leben so gemütlich als es nur geht. Los ist natürlich garnichts hier kein Kino kein Gasthaus garnichts. Nicht einmal elektr. Licht. ich sitze hier bei einen Kerzenstummel und schreibe. Die Bevölkerung ist wieder unserer Erwartung sehr freundlich. Das mir hier etwas passiert da braucht Ihr gar keine Angst zu haben! Wir machen hier Dienst so wie in der kaserne. Jetzt geht das Soldatenleben erst richtig los. Schade das ein Packet nach Hause so lange braucht. Für einen Zigarrenstummel kann man hier Eier tauschen, da könnte ich Euch welche schicken. Wenn Ihr mir eine Freude machen wollt dan schickt mir bitte Zigaretten auch „Gestopfte“! Hier gibt [es nähmlich garnichts zu rauchen.]
