Osten 31.XII.42.
Mein geliebtes Muttl!
Heute am letzten Tag im alten Jahr will ich Dich wieder recht herzlich grüßen. Danke auch sehr für Deinen lieben Brief von 18.XII. die niedlichen Neujahrskarten und den Wunsch zum Namenstag [Der 27. Dezember ist der Gedenktag des Apostels und Evangelisten Johannes]. Auch ich freue mich immer sehr wenn Post von Dir eintrifft. Der Roman und die Illustri. ist auch eingetroffen. Der Roman war aber so zusammengeklebt daß die Seiten nicht mehr auseinander gingen. Das macht aber nichts habe noch etwas zu lesen. Nur mit den Schreibpapier ist es sehr schlecht. Dies ist heute mein letztes Kouvert. Habe garnichts mehr. Von Tante Mitzi kam auch das Packet mit zwei netten Büchern und Kecks. Das zweite Packet von Fählers kam Gestern. Kecks Lebkuchen und auch eine schönes Stück Wurst. Weichnachten habe ich ganz schön und vor Allem ruhig im Bunker meiner Kameraden verbracht. War im Gedanken viel bei Dir und in der Heimat. Nun gehen wir wieder in ein neues Jahr. Wir wollen vom ganzen Herzen hoffen daß es und den Sieg [und somit den ersehnten Frieden bringt.]
