[Gute Verpflegung u. Liebesgaben] oft glaube ich, ich träume aber es ist Wirklichkeit. Trotzdem denke ich an die armen Kerle vorne im Loch, könnten sie doch alle mit dabei sein. Was sie auszuhalten haben und leisten kann sich kein Mensch vorstellen. Nun will ich Dir berichten wie es kam daß ich jetzt hier bin. Wir hatten harte Kämpfe und lagen Tag und Nacht in Löcher. Einmal griffen wir an dann wieder kam der Russe. Es war bei einen Brückenkopf am Dnjpr. Ich hatte die offenen Stellen am Bein schon lange wollte aber erst nach den Kämpfen zum Arzt gehen. Am 30.XI. durften von jeder [Kompanie ein paar Mann zum aufwärmen ins Dorf gehen.]
