[Es ist in der] Nähe von Halberstadt. Nun paß auf mein Muttl ich hatte doch im Juli meinen letzten Erholungsurlaub dies ist nun schon über ein halbes Jahr. Es wird nun erzählt daß alle Landser die aus Rußland zum Ersatz kommen und ein halbes Jahr keinen Erholungsurlaub hatten diesen in der Gens. Kmp. bekommen! Du kannst Versichert sein Mama daß ich alles daran setzen werde das mir dieser Urlaub nicht entgeht es wird mir kein Mittel zu Gut oder zu Schlecht sein den beim Streichen ist es ihnen ja auch egal. Wir haben also noch immer Grund zu hoffen. Versprich mir bitte daß Du Dich nich kränken und grämen wirst denn es müßte schon mit den Teufel zu gehen wenn und dies nicht gelingt. Sobald ich in Blankenburg angekommen bin schreib ich Dir sofort. Die Post von Troppau wird mir wohl nachgesendet. Dein Packet vom 26.XII. ist bis Heute noch nicht eingetroffen habe schon so darauf gewartet. Wie wurde es denn aufgegeben Feldpost oder mit Marken? Gesundheitlich geht es mir sehr gut. Habe keine Beschwerden und nichts mehr. Trotz des „Klags“ von oben wegen Urlaub bin ich bei guter Stimmung und Humor was bleibt einen den schon anderes übrig? Gester habe ich noch Abschiedgefeiert erst haben wir im Lazarett mit den Schwestern getanzt und dann ging ich zu einen „Wiener Abend“ mit Franz Borsos und vielen Wienern es war sehr nett. Heute Morgen hätte ich schon um 5.10 h fahren können aber ich habe mich doch lieber erst ausgeschlafen dort komme ich noch früh genug hin. Über Wien kann ich ja leider Gottes nicht fahren den der Umweg ist zu groß. Nun mein geliebtes Muttl bitte ich Dich nochmals stark zu sein ich werde alles daran setzen um zu Dir zu kommen! Grüß mir bitte alle Bekannte, Karl, Adi, Kurt u. alle anderen.
