Description
Deutsch: Hang des Weskentals, welches 3 km östlich Eglingen in das Tal der Großen Lauter, südlich Buttenhausen mündet. Hier sind in idealer Weise mehrere Feldraine zu sehen, zwischen denen früher grenzwertig ertragreiche Ackerfelder bearbeitet wurden. Die Raine gründen wahrscheinlich auf uralten Ansammlungen von Steinen der Äcker und bildeten Feldgrenzen. Die Raine mit ihrem Gehölz schützen auch vor Bodenabschwemmung. Das Gehölz diente durch regelmäßiges Zurückschneiden auch als wertvolles Brennholz für den Bauernhof. Heute sind solche Raine extrem wichtige Biotope, insbesondere für wärmeliebende Kleintiere und unterschiedlichstes Gesträuch. Die hier sichtbaren Biotope sind naturschutzgesetzlich geschützt.

English: Slope of the Weskental, east of the village Eglingen (belongs to Hohenstein), Swabian Alb. The valley descends down into the valley oft he “Große Lauter“, south of Buttenhausen. The rows of horizontal hedges, probably developed on stringed stones, and well attended over centuries, were natural borders of fields.
