Fidel Martínez Rodríguez fundador del movimiento popular de liberación Cinchoneros

Fidel José Martínez Rodríguez,ingeniero agrónomo, ex miembro del Partido Comunista de Honduras y Fundador del Movimiento Popular de liberación Cinchonero y la Union Revolucionaria del pueblo.

Fidel, hijo de José Martínez y Agustina Rodríguez de Martínez. Fidel creció y vivió gran parte de su niñez en Salado Barra junto a su hermana mayor Laura Martínez y su hermano menor Óscar Martínez. Don José Martínez, padre de Fidel era un supervisor de la standard fruit company donde laboró por muchos años. Eran una familia trabajadora y emprendedora, les interesaba mucho poder sacar a sus hijos adelante y en especial poder enviar a Fidel a estudiar a Tegucigalpa, ya que él demostraba pasión y curiosidad por la lectura, aprendizaje y superación personal. Mientras Doña Tina, manejaba un pequeño negocio de familia que abastecía de víveres a todo Salado y aldeas aledañas.
