Estimates of the percentage change in average wages in this timeframe that do not have an asterisk have margins of error within plus or minus 1.9 percentage points. Estimates of the number of jobs in May 2012 have margins of error within plus or minus 2.7 percent of the estimate. Estimates of the average annual wage in May 2012 have margins of error within plus or minus 4.9 percent of the estimate. a) Indicates that the estimate of the percentage change in the average wage between May 2004 and May 2012 have margins of error greater than 30 percent of the estimate. The 95 percent confidence intervals for these estimates are: 1.2 to 3.9 percent increase in the average wage for computer science occupations, 3.5 to 7.9 percent for mathematical sciences occupations, 0.3 to 3.5 percent for engineering technicians and drafters, 4.0 to 8.2 percent for physical sciences occupations, 1.8 to 8.4 percent for social sciences occupations, 1.7 to 11.6 for postsecondary teachers, and 2.0 to 4.1 percent for health technologists and technicians. |
